Kingston & Richmond NHS Foundation Trust was established in 2024 to bring health and care services closer together for local people. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in South West London and neighbouring areas.

The Audiology service is based at the Kingston Hospital site, situated in the Royal Borough of Kingston on the River Thames. Identified as a metropolitan centre in the London Plan, Kingston is one of the biggest retail centres in the UK receiving 18 million visitors a year and home to Kingston University.

KRFT comprises two of the UK’s highest performing hospitals: Kingston and Teddington Memorial Hospital, as well as community services in Kingston, Richmond and neighbouring areas, all with a long history of high-quality care, clinical excellence, research and innovation.  We are one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country and one of the biggest employers locally. We have a long tradition of clinical and scientific achievement and our Audiology service was one of the first to received UKAS accreditation under the IQIPS standard.

### Main duties of the job

To provide a range of routine person-centred, patient-facing clinical and administrative duties to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care and efficient functioning of the IQIPS accredited service.

Working as a senior-level autonomous practitioner within the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will provide a range of routine and specialist diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures to adults and children in a range of health care settings.

The post holder will actively participate in internal and external quality assurance processes to ensure patients receive the best possible care and experience, and encourage others to do the same.

This post is offered to an experienced audiologist looking for the next step in their career.  Mentorship will be provided to accelerate professional growth and career development. There will be the possibility to undertake work-based training to support progression into more advanced clinical roles or develop expertise in specific areas.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Ability to organise/coordinate care within community and acute care settings

**Desirable**

- IT and Presentation Skills

### Experience

**Essential**

- Practical experience undertaking paediatric assessments and hearing aid fitting to adults and children.
- Experience working with adults and children in an NHS acute or community setting
- Experience of mutli-agency working and maintaining positive relationships

**Desirable**

- Practical experience supporting volunteer support service
- Experience assessing and managing specific patient groups using specialist knowledge and understanding
- Evidence of effective clinical supervision and teaching skills
- Familiarity with quality assurance monitoring, service planning, development and policy implementation

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- MSc in Audiology or equivalent knowledge base acquired through in-depth service experience.
- Registration with Health and Care Professions Council or AHCS

**Desirable**

- Completion of ERA and balance course
- Active membership of other related organisations
- Completion of BAA Higher Training Scheme modules
