Together with other senior staff to act as a resource of specialist advice to  adult speech and language therapy team, the community therapy services, and others within the wider multidisciplinary services. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities What We’re Looking For: HCPC Registered as a Speech and Language Therapist. Strong background in adult acquired pathology, neurology  and dysphagia management (Band 6 level or equivalent). Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and supporting others. Sound knowledge of evidence-based stroke care and NHS frameworks. UK Driving Licence and access to a car for work purposes. Please refer to the attached Job description and Person Specification for main responsibilities of the role. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service. ## Person Specification ### Other **Essential** - Uk driving license and own car available for work use ### Experience **Essential** - Extensive and recent SLT experience at least at band 6 level/equivalent in adult neurology and the management of dysphagia. - Able to demonstrate appropriate postgraduate experience working across other core SLT areas to support the rehabilitation needs of the patient. - Experience working as part of NHS MDT - Experience of working in a community setting - Experience of leading a project/ audit ### Skills and abilities **Essential** - Fluent in written and spoken English including the ability to generate letters and reports of a high calibre. - Advanced clinical reasoning and problem solving skills and other relevant clinical areas. - Ability to prioritise own and others workload within a busy environment. - Experience of supervising and teaching junior staff ### Education and Qualifications **Essential** - HCPC.
