With new and passionate Ultrasound Leads driving service development, we are seeking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Sonographer with UK experience and HCPC/NMC or RCT registration to join our friendly and forward-looking team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about their work, committed to achieving excellence and providing the best patient care. You will be part of a great team of diverse professionals that are equally passionate about delivering an excellent patient experience in line with our Trust Objectives. You must be available to work at either of our Trust sites - Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital.

- Be responsible for scanning patients and producing independent reports of these scans in line with departmental guidelines;
- Take an active role in teaching and practical training of student Sonographers, specialist registrars, and others in training;
- Participate in the management of the ultrasound department and in the audit and clinical governance programs;
- To communicate with patients, their relatives, and others about the purpose of the examinations and the scan results (in line with departmental guidelines).
- To develop ones own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others, identifying any training needs to the Lead Sonographer;
- To plan and prioritise ones own workload and that of the section to ensure the efficient flow of work, keeping waiting times to a minimum and maintaining a high standard of service delivery.

As a band 7 sonographer you will be providing a supportive learning environment for trainee sonographers. You will be expected to support participation and leadership of the centrally registered audit and continuous improvement programmes

Essential

- HCPC/RCT/NMC registration
- BSc in Radiography/Midwifery
- Experience scanning Abdominal, gynaecology, Obstetrics, Small parts, DVT, Carotid and vascular scans on both inpatient and outpatients
- Participation in clinical audit
- PG Cert/ Dip in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and/ or General Medical Ultrasound
- 1 year minimum NHS post qualification experience

Desirable

- PG Cert or Dip in MSK/ Head and Neck/ Vascular Ultrasound
- MSc Ultrasound
- Short courses adding to CPD
- Experience scanning diagnostic MSK, Baby Hips, Head and Neck or Paediatrics
