Obstetrics ultrasound experience is essential, and we welcome applications from various professional backgrounds including Midwife Sonographers. Experience and skills in General, Gynaecology, Small parts, DVT and Musculoskeletal is also desired. All successful candidates will be supported by a preceptorship program based on their level of experience and skills. Candidates must hold either a Pg Cert / Dip / MSc or DMU qualification in Medical Ultrasound and professional registration with a statutory regulated body (such as the HCPC, NMC) or the Register for Clinical Technologists. All staff members are required to participate in the 7-day service, and it is usual to compress hours into 8am-6pm or 8am-8pm shift patterns, which includes 1 weekend per month. Novel ways of working and role expansion to develop enhanced and advanced clinical pathways are both supported and encouraged. Salary – Band 7 inc. HCAS and £5,000 short term RRP (pro-rata) which is reviewed annually. Contract: 7 days 12-hour contract (usual to compress hours into 8am-6pm or 8am-8pm shift patterns, which includes 1 weekend per month) Location: Based at The Royal London Hospital with cross site rotation to Mile End and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals ### Main duties of the job The post-holder will work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team in Imaging, liaising with those involved to ensure that appropriate imaging, reporting and management of the patient is provided when and where necessary. They will maintain a high professional and technical standard of ultrasound imaging with cross site rotation covering The Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Mile End Hospital. Our Sonographers undertake clinical work within established quality standards of practice, adhering to Ultrasound guidelines such as those published by BMUS, RCOG, RCR and NICE. The post-holder will work within departmental protocols as a practitioner in the delivery of all ultrasound imaging, reporting and management of the patient. The post-holder will also liaise with key Lead Nurses, Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the Women’s Health Division, as well as the Radiologists in the General Ultrasound Department.
