A career opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Social Care Worker at Seaforth House Care Home in Golspie

Previous experience in a social care setting is essential and ideally you will hold an SVQ 3 in Social care or as a minimum hold SVQ 2 with a willingness to achieve an SVQ 3 in Social Care to enable registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults.

Job purpose: To act as a key worker for care home service users by initiating, developing and reviewing the care plan for those individuals To work in a person-centred way which promotes the quality of life and maximises independence for all service users To support the re-enablement of service users, including short-term as well as long-term residents To act as shift leader and take charge of the Care Home as necessary. Makes decisions about overall welfare and safety of service users when in charge of Care Home and acting as shift leader Assesses progress of service users against care plan and adjusts accordingly, taking into account the service user’s interests and priorities as well as any changes in condition.

Knowledge, training and experience required to do the job role: Eligible for registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a practitioner working in a care home for adults Minimum of SVQ 2 in Social Care or equivalent (minimum required for registration with SSSC) and commitment to achieve SVQ3 in Social Care or equivalent. Sensitive to the needs of others Able to relate to clients/service users and their carers and relatives. Skills to be able to assess service users and update care plans accordingly Trained and assessed in the administration of medicines in accordance with recognised guidelines and controls. Ability to take responsibility as a key worker Ability to act as shift leader, with temporary overall responsibility for the Care Home. Have an understanding of the importance of health and safety in the workplace and become familiar with NHS Highland’s Health and Safety procedures.

### This is a permanent part-time post of 30 hours working as per service requirements.

### This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
