We are looking for experienced and motivated paediatric nurses to join the Site Practitioner team to enhance their knowledge and skills and work part of the Hospital @ Night and PACE team.

This is an opportunity to work alongside the medical team delivering safe and  effective care out of hours  for multi-specialties  including Medicine, Respiratory, Liver, and Surgery.   You will also work for the 24/7 Paediatric Assessment Clinical Escalation (PACE) service supporting clinical areas in the early recognition and escalation of deteriorating children and delivering HDU level care to our at risk patients.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain enhanced nursing skills and work as part of a wider multi-Disciplinary team, with educational and learning opportunities available to you.

The post holder will work part of the site practitioner team to provide clinical support to the Hospital @ Night medical workforce(H@N) out of hours to ensure safe and effective care is provided to patients. The post holder will also work alongside HDU+ team covering the PACE service ( Paediatric Assessment Clinical Escalation team) to assess and make management plans of deteriorating patients or patients at risk and escalate accordingly ensuring there is a coordinated approach to supporting HDU level care on ward areas.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- RSCN/RN Child branch
- Current NMC registration
- Teaching and assessing or Mentoring Qualification
- PILS provider
- Paediatric Assessment course or (willingness to undertake)
- HDU/ Critical care level 1 & 2 course ( willingness to undertake)

**Desirable**

- EPALS or APLS Provider
- Non Medical Prescriber (NMP)

### Other Requirements

**Essential**

- Display behaviors in line with trust values
- Display behaviors in line with NMC code of conduct
- Promote Equality, Diversity & inclusion within the team and wider trust

### Analytical and Judgement Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to make autonomous decisions working within NMC scope of practice

**Desirable**

### Knowledge & Nature of Experience

**Essential**

- Recent & extensive experience in an acute setting as an experienced band 5 or 6
- Ability to make autonomous clinical decisions
- Ability to recognise and act upon the need for immediate medical intervention
- Demonstrate clinical competence in skills ie: cannulation/ Venepuncture,Tracheostomy,CPAP
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Evidence of formal & Informal teaching
- Good understanding of safeguarding children
