### Job summary

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic Paediatric Nurse to join our team in the Paediatric Emergency Department here at Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust as a band 6. This role offers an ideal opportunity for a Paediatric Nurse with relevant Paediatric experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high quality nursing care with minors, majors and resus patients. You must possess good leadership skills, skills in change management, as well as excellent team working skills, sound clinical knowledge and skills, but above all put the patient at the heart of everything you do. We also pride ourselves in having a big focus on safeguarding children. As a part of your role you will be expected to undertake a multi-disciplinary approach to safeguard children in our care.

The department welcomes new members and has an open and friendly culture which is strongly supportive of nursing development and expansion of skills and leadership. You will be given additional training in required clinical skills and management skills. ### Job responsibilities

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Urgent Care CSU operates across two main sites at St James’ Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary and has a designated Children’s Hospital. We are also the regional Trauma centre for adults and paediatrics. We see approximately 210,000 patients per year from a wide range of social and ethnic groups, making it one of the largest acute hospital trusts in England. Within the Paediatric Emergency Department we see approximately 40,000 children per year.
