We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Service Manager to join the North Thames Genomic Medicine Service (NT GMS).

You will be a talented and transformational leader, with the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve what is required for patients and services in a complex environment.

This role is an opportunity to be at the heart of an innovative and rapidly advancing area of medicine, and as such the role will have a strong emphasis on delivering improvements across our services for patients, supporting access to genomic medicine across the region through working with a broad range of partners and stakeholders, and implementing new service elements. This role will work closely both on operational functions, and project development, to support our services to continue to provide excellent care.

### Main duties of the job

The Service Manager will:

- Be responsible for implementing new genomic pathways across the GMS – this will involve project management oversight, as well as operational input.
- Supporting the GMS to move to a new contracting arrangement, and onto a new costing model.
- Be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality services in their specialties. The role requires effective staff management, financial management and the delivery of sustainable efficiency gains. The role also requires a detailed understanding of how to manage risk and quality within an NHS service.
- Be responsible for the continual development and delivery of the Genomic Laboratory Service’s across NT GMS.
- Take specific delegated responsibility for the monitoring and delivery of key quality and performance standards, coordinating the Genomics annual business and strategic planning process, implementing agreed business cases and the non-clinical workforce management.
- Manage engagement between commercial partners, suppliers and key stakeholders in the Trust
- Day to day operational management and leadership of a small genomics team.
