### Job summary

- Providing excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams in line with Trust values and standards.
- Coordinating and organising patient attendance for day case procedures, theatre bookings, and outpatient appointments.
- Ensuring all administrative processes and patient enquiries are managed efficiently and within required timescales.
- Delivering a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to Consultants, nursing teams, and the wider team.
- Liaising with multidisciplinary teams and external departments to support smooth patient pathways and service delivery.
- Producing accurate, professional documentation to a high standard with strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Monitoring patient surgical waiting lists and ensuring compliance with NHS targets and Trust standards.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced secretary or administrator to join our team as a Service Administrator.

Based within the Ophthalmology Department on the main Royal Devon and Exeter Wonford site, the post holder will join an established team to provide comprehensive administration support for our patients and clinical team.

The successful candidate must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, enjoy working within busy team, able to prioritise their workload and can work well under pressure.

We are looking for someone who is articulate, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise their own workload.

You will need to enjoy the challenge of working as part of a busy team yet have the ability to use your own initiative to meet the changing needs of the department.

The post holder will need to have a range of administrative experience, ideally in a secretarial role or within a Healthcare environment; however, we welcome applicants from other sectors who feel they have relevant transferable skills.

If you feel you would be able to meet the demands of this challenging and rewarding role, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Visits to the department are welcome and encouraged.

Working Pattern: 30 hours per week. Tuesday-Friday, 08:00-16:00
