THEWS is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) established following the government Green Paper: Transforming Children & Young People’s Mental Health Provision. The service has undergone recent expansion. The three core functions of a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) are: - Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people (CYP) with mild-to-moderate mental health problems. - Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce, develop and deliver the whole school/college approach. - Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help CYP to get the right support and stay in education. ### Main duties of the job The role involves delivering all three MHST functions.
