Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Band 6 – EMHP, CWP

We are seeking to recruit an experienced senior wellbeing practitioner to join the Tower Hamlets Education Wellbeing Service (THEWS).

THEWS is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) established following the government Green Paper: Transforming Children & Young People’s Mental Health Provision. The service has undergone recent expansion.

### Main duties of the job

The three core functions of a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) are:

- Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people (CYP) with mild-to-moderate mental health problems.
- Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce, develop and deliver the whole school/college approach.
- Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help CYP to get the right support and stay in education.

The role involves delivering all three MHST functions. The role involves providing clinical supervision to trainees and or newly qualified EWPs and holding small caseload of clinical work while acting as a senior link supporting school leads to develop their whole school approach to wellbeing, project work, and other tasks as/when required.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Substantial experience of working with evidence-based approaches for mild to moderate mental health problems in children and young people
- Experience of supervising low intensity practice with CYP and families
- Experience of routine outcome monitoring
- Experience working with schools
- Experience working as part of an MHST
- Experience of service development
- Experience of consultation
- Experience of teaching/training other professionals

### Knowledge and Skills

**Essential**

- Knowledge of current guidelines and recent developments in evidence-based assessments and interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management and mental health in relation to children, young people and their families
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and families with a high level of deprivation
- Knowledge of current guidelines in terms of the implementation of the whole-school approach in education

### Education/ Qualification/Training

**Essential**

- Currently completing or have completed either the PG Cert Supervision: Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing or the PG Dip: Senior Wellbeing Practitioner course
- Registration with BABCP and/or BPS applied for
