South Bristol Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) provides same-day urgent care for patients presenting with minor injuries and minor illnesses. The service is open 8.00am to 8.00pm, seven days a week. We are currently recruiting for a motivated Band 7 Urgent Care Practitioner (ECP/ENP/Specialist Paramedic/Extended Scope Physiotherapist) to join our team at South Bristol UTC. In this role, you will undertake the comprehensive assessment, management, and referral of a diverse range of service users presenting with urgent injury and illness. The position also includes supporting junior team members, conducting remote consultations, providing shift leadership, and contributing to service improvement through audit and project work. We offer access to regular internal training and a range of external higher education development opportunities, including Independent Prescribing courses. We are a friendly, experienced, and supportive team seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care. ### Main duties of the job - Autonomously provide patient centred care, including assessment, shared care planning and appropriate referral of service users. - Undertake a variety of consultation types including face to face, telephone and video. - Utilise advanced clinical examination skills to support diagnostic reasoning and patient centred care plans. - Utilise Patient Group Directions or Independent Prescribing (desirable) to appropriately manage patient presentations. - Undertake shift leadership role to ensure the smooth running of the department. This will include prioritisation of workload based around available resources, support for the clinical and non-clinical teams, acting to ensure the safety of patients and team members and liaising with management and external partners. - Support unit safety by effectively carrying out initial assessment and prioritisation of presenting patients. - Provide clinical expertise and advice to colleagues and junior practitioners.
