This vacancy is only open at this stage to internal employees of the following organisations within the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System:

- North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust
- Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust
- University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, inclusive of Black Country Procurement Group and North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service.
- Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board

We are looking for an enthusiastic and autonomous Senior Therapy Technical Instructor to join the Medical Therapies Directorate at Royal Stoke University Hospital, working within the Urgent Care Therapies Team.

This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.

### Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be involved in the early assessment, treatment and discharge planning of acutely unwell patients across multiple emergency portals, including A&E. The applicant will work with patients suffering from a wide range of conditions and be required to work within a multidisciplinary team. The applicant should have a keen interest in the rapid assessment and treatment of patients, ensuring a safe and timely discharge especially in relation to the frailty population. A thorough awareness of the available discharge pathways is required. The applicant will work across both Occupational therapy and Physiotherapy roles, gaining competencies in both professions.

Supervision will be provided by Physiotherapists and/or Occupational therapists, and continuous professional development is supported through appraisal and internal and external training.

The post holder will be required to provide support and supervision for more junior staff / students. They will also be expected to contribute to the training and development of staff within team and the wider therapy department.

Therapy Services work within a 7 day shift system therefore the post holder will be required to work weekends and bank holidays as part of their role.

### Education & Qualifications

- GCSE English Grade C/4 and above or equivalent or evidence of good literacy
- GCSE Maths Grade C/4 and above or equivalent or evidence of good numeracy
- Meets competency framework for Technical Instructor Band 3 specific to work area

**Desirable**

- GCSE Science's Grade C/4 and above
- A Level/NVQ Qualification
