Senior Theatre Practitioner- Scrub  Band 6  37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Liverpool University Hospital Foundation Trust (LUHFT) for a HCPC/NMC registered ODP/RN with Scrub experience to join the Theatre team as a Band 6.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is looking to further their career and embrace a peri-operative role with a commitment to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients within our busy theatres complex. We are proud of our ethos of providing a supportive, team orientated environment. We provide an in-depth induction and an excellent preceptorship package for all applicants. The successful applicant will work within theatres  as a Scrub practitioner There would be opportunity to rotate within the disciplines and this would be supported by the theatre team.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team. To provide support and knowledge to patients within the speciality. Acts as a role model, demonstrating effective organisational, clinical and leadership skills.

The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team, required to participate in the Directorate internal rotation programme.  To provide support and knowledge to patients within the speciality.

Acts as a role model, demonstrating effective organisational, clinical and leadership skills.  To undertake anaesthetic, scrub and recovery duties, as required, to meet service delivery requirements.

Maintain patient confidentiality and record keeping.

Demonstrate a knowledge of good I.T skills and record keeping.

You will be flexible, adaptable and willing to maintain our pace and drive having strong communication skills that enable you to be a real team player, to provide the finest possible care and provide on-going support to our existing team of highly skilled professionals, all of whom are committed to making a positive difference to our patients.

- Maintain awareness of and comply with the HCPC/NMC code of professional conduct/ standards of proficiency, Trust policies, procedures and guidelines.
- To demonstrate evidence of on-going specialist professional development via a personal professional portfolio and the NHS knowledge and skills frame work.
- Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain professional standards and adhere to the Trust and departmental dress code policy.
- To be able to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.
- Be competent to deliver expert, skilled care to highly dependent patients in a specialised area.
- Ensure effective communication at all levels and disciplines, information inclusive of that which is confidential and multi stranded within the theatre.
- Ensure all records and documentation are compiled and maintained accurately and in accordance with the H.P.C. / N.M.C. standards for record keeping and Caldicott report.
- Supports patients/families/staff effectively communicating sensitive, confidential information using a variety of communication skills such as empathy, negotiation, persuasion and reassurance.
- It is recognised that on agreement at formal appraisal on an annual basis there may be a decision to concentrate on certain aspects of this job description.

- Evidence of active participation in development of unit guidelines/initiatives

### Qualifications

- Register Nurse, current NMC registration / ODP current HCPC registration
- Qualification relevant to specialist area (Diploma/Degree in Specialized Theatre Practice, ENB 182/176,HEA605)or equivalent course
- Mentorship course or Teaching and Assessing course (ENB 998,C&G756,Mentorship in Practice,D32/D33,)
