We are looking for an experienced and motivated Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join our specialist Infectious Diseases ward, a 24-bed inpatient unit where all patients are cared for in individual side rooms, enabling the highest standards of infection prevention, privacy, and personalised care. Recognised as a leading Centre for Infectious Diseases on the South Coast, the ward provides expert care to patients with a wide range of complex infections, including HIV, and works closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team in Brighton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience who is passionate about infectious diseases and committed to delivering outstanding patient care. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, alongside the ability to adapt within a dynamic and specialist clinical environment. ### Main duties of the job

The Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse will be based within the inpatient Infectious Diseases ward, where they will play a key role in supporting the Ward Manager/Charge Nurse in delivering strong clinical leadership. This leadership will ensure the provision of high-quality patient care and the promotion of effective clinical practice that responds to the complex and ever-changing needs of patients affected by infectious diseases. Central to the role is maintaining clear, consistent communication and fostering strong working relationships across HIV and Infectious Diseases services, including active liaison with the wider HIV & ID multidisciplinary team in Brighton to support coordinated, patient-centred care. The post holder will also be expected to undertake any training required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role and to support their continued professional development.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications and Experience

**Essential**

- Registered nurse with current NMC registration
- ENB 998 or mentorship or Practise assessor training
- IV therapy
- Leadership skills
- Venepuncture
- Significant experience working on an Acute setting

**Desirable**

- Postgraduate qualification in infectious disease, HIV, or Sexual Health
- Have an understanding of High consequences Infectious diseases
- Awareness of antimicrobial stewardship
