An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join our team within the Medical High Dependency Unit at Raigmore Hospital. We are a 6 bedded critical care unit comprising of 4 open bays and 2 cubicles.

The Medical High Dependency Unit admits acutely unwell patients directly from the Acute Medicine Unit, General wards, Community and Emergency Department. This is a fast paced and interesting environment to work within.

We are looking for a motivated, caring and compassionate nurse, who is able to work well under pressure and already has experience within a HDU setting or are looking to gain enhanced experience within an acute environment.

Successful candidates should be able to work well as part of a cohesive and dynamic team and have an interest in building leadership skills, have excellent care values and a good sense of humour. They should also have enthusiasm to work, to learn and develop both themselves and their colleagues and have a passion for Critical Care. Candidates must have strong written and verbal English language skills.

This is an ideal area to gain acute medical and critical care experience and be supported to develop your clinical and leadership skills. We help to support staff on career pathways to develop skills which can lead to a variety of roles including Senior Charge Nurses and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
