An exciting opportunities have arisen on Shakespeare ward at the Harbour for highly motivated and professional RMN to join the wards as band 6 clinical lead. In coming into this roles, the successful candidates will join an already established leadership team, and will have opportunity to further develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment.

The successful candidate will bring excellent role modelling skills, a passion for supporting and developing junior colleagues, including student nurses and preceptors, and they should have a keen interest in quality improvement projects that can lead to improvements in patient care and staff wellbeing.

You should bring with you experience of nursing people with acute mental health needs, as well as some experience of providing high quality supervision, an awareness of not just how to complete an audit but what to do with the data an audit provides us with, and be keen to develop your own skills once in post.

Inpatient wards and units are designed to meet the acute holistic needs of service users and patients and carers, in a recovery focussed environment.  This working environment is conducive to staff development and wellbeing. The post holder will support staff members in the assessment, planning and provision of care in line with national and local nursing and health and safety policy. The post holder will exercise professional accountability and responsibility demonstrating use of professional skills, knowledge and expertise in the provision of high quality care. There is an expectation that the post holder will utilise research audit and enquiry to lead improvements in care.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and practice of Mental Health Act 1983.
- Knowledge of common mental health problems and medication used in relation to these

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of assessing, planning and implementing and reviewing care needs.
- Experience of interacting therapeutically with distress and /or disturbed individuals.

### Education / Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification.
- Specialist qualification or equivalent level in skills and development.
