Clinical and Patient Care Quality Education and Leadership Research and Development Management and Leadership Compliance and Governance Communication ## Person Specification ### Previous Experience **Essential** - Previous post registration experience within the relevant specialty - Experiencing of co-ordinating a shift - Supervision of junior staff - Experienced and competent in the management of patients within the speciality ### Additional Information **Essential** - Able and willing to work flexible shift patterns, internal rotation to day and night duty and unsocial hours, according to service needs ### Skills/Knowledge/ Ability **Essential** - Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues. Knowledge of evidence based practice. - Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners - Good communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive information. To include dealing with distressed relatives, care of terminally ill & other challenging situations - Demonstrate an awareness of clinical governance and risk management and how this effects their role and the department - Demonstrates ability to influence and negotiate with others. Ability to organise and plan own time and that of junior staff and learners. ### Qualifications/ Professional Registration **Essential** - RN1/ RN2/ RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
