The post will also involve  the Trauma Coordinator role which is rotated amongst all of the Band 6 staff on the T/O unit.  The successful candidate will  cover the Band 7  role during  periods of Annual Leave. The role involves providing clinical leadership and expertise in managing this complex group of patients , It involves working very closely with the Orthogeriatric , Orthopaedic and wider MDT.  There is a strong teaching element to the role . The Band 6 is expected to have expert knowledge about T&O and elderly  patients. ### Main duties of the job - Act as the clinical expert providing specialist knowledge and advice to Nurses,  Therapist and junior medical staff working within the ward.. - Communicate effectively within the multidisciplinary team, participate in motivating and supporting team members and maintain confidentiality with patients and staff. Give written and verbal advice/teaching to patients and carers. - Manage patient care according to agreed policies and protocols, taking appropriate action, seeking advice from other members of the multi-disciplinary team as necessary.
