We are excited to advertise this exciting role within our Nutrition Team at UHCW NHS Trust.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Dietitian to join our dynamic team at UHCW.  As a Dietitian within the Nutrition Team you will be working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based nutritional advice, assessment, and treatment to a variety of patients, including those with intestinal failure who require parenteral nutrition .  This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional development and to make a real impact on patient outcomes.

The role will include a mix of inpatient care on a variety of wards (surgical, gastro, oncology, intensive care) alongside outpatient clinics.

We have recently established team training plans, career frameworks and competencies to support individual progression.  Individual aspirations in line with this will be discussed as part of an annual personal development review (PDR).

Please be advised that the interviews for this post will take place week commencing  22/06/2026, subject to availability.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

- To carry out clinical dietetic assessments and offer and evaluate evidence based interventions for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings in collaboration with patients, relatives and other health care professionals and support staff.
- To hold responsibility for own and / or shared caseload
- Maintain clinical records in line with local / Trust documentation guidelines.
- To work within National and Trust policies / guidelines; and HCPC and BDA standards and codes of conduct including taking responsibility for own continued professional development.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and audit work.

We are diverse in both skill and experience but also in personnel. We are a department of nearly seventy Dietitians (across Coventry and Rugby Hospitals) whose specialities include gastroenterology, critical care, surgery, stroke, major trauma, oncology, renal, diabetes, specialist weight management, paediatrics, intestinal failure and community nutrition support. We also provide student placements to neighbouring universities in Coventry and Birmingham. As a department we are actively involved in both research and audit and actively encourage staff to identify and attend courses relevant to their role and future development.

The department offers a supportive, friendly working environment with a commitment to work-life balance.  Additionally, there are a range of additional benefits on offer including access to a range of services to support health and wellbeing, on-site parking (there is however a cost associated with this), car lease scheme and on-site nursery.

Main responsibilities:

- Carry out dietetic / nutritional assessments (including interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometrics, clinical condition and diet history) to determine nutritional diagnosis.
- Use sound clinical reasoning skills to provide appropriate individual dietetic advice and develop treatment plans, including for patients who require enteral or parenteral nutrition, taking into consideration patients own goals and incorporate discharge planning as appropriate.
- Work alongside multi-disciplinary teams to negotiate and agree a holistic approach for each patient.
- Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment plans as required, reporting back to senior clinician for regular support and advice.
- Communicate nutrition and dietetic information in an understandable form to staff, clients and carers using teaching, motivation and counselling skills as required.
- Contribute to department audit and service development work.
- Support training of student dietitians on clinical placement.
- Support teaching / nutrition education of peers and multi professional colleagues.
- Engage in department and own CPD activities.
- Cover the work of colleagues during periods of absence or peak workloads.
- Participate in health promotion activities of the department.
- Participate in other duties as required.
