The Senior Research Office Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the Research & Development(R&D) Office works effectively.  The Senior Coordinator delivers key research governance functions, provides trial delivery and administrative support to the R&D Office and Research Delivery Units, and coordinates a range of improvement projects and initiatives across the directorate.

### Main duties of the job

Main finance facilitator responsibilities

- To develop, maintain and manage Excel database to enable income reporting, forecasting and tracking each trial over its lifetime.
- Line Manage Research Finance Administrator
- To liaise with R&D Finance to ensure each R&D project has an individual analysis code.
- To track patient recruitment to research trials and maintain Edge Research Management system.

Main Administrative and Coordination Responsibilities

- To coordinate the Research Office to ensure that the office provides an effective working environment for research staff. Coordinate accommodation requirements and ensure the availability of office furniture and equipment. Develop and maintain robust office systems and procedures, e.g. central filing systems, locking up procedures, fire instructions.
- To arrange and provide administrative support via apprentices or self for meetings, including minute taking, preparing agendas and following up actions, compiling and distributing papers, booking meeting rooms and arranging catering, providing travel directions and acting as the first point of contact for members regarding meeting arrangements and attendance. This may require travel to and attendance at meetings at different locations within KCH, and other Trusts.

Main finance facilitator responsibilities

- In collaboration with the Research Data Manager, develop the Edge Research Management system to ensure that it captures information to enable systematic and efficient invoicing.
- To work with the research teams to identify key time points for raising invoices and agree invoice schedules.
- To track these time points via continual liaison with research teams and referring to the Edge Research Management system.

Main Administrative and Coordination Responsibilities

- Support Research Delivery Units with ad hoc trial delivery and administrative support, including preparing for monitoring and inspections. To facilitate recruitment to research related posts within the office or clinical research areas, in line with Trust processes.
- To coordinate a range of varied R&D projects and improvement initiatives, including support the coordination of events like International Clinical Trials Day.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in an administration / coordinator or office management role
- Excellent IT skills including advanced use of databases.
- Ability to work under pressure and exercise judgement when dealing with inquiries.

**Desirable**

- PA experience
- Previous experience in the NHS or in a Higher Education setting
- Experience of database design and development.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Relevant degree or professional qualification or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with an effective and courteous telephone manner
- Ability to build effective working relationships in a multi-faceted organisational environment.
