### Job summary

We are recruiting a Senior Recovery Navigator to join our Access Community Mental Health Team in BaNES (with the office in Bath) to manage Recovery Navigators to enable them to work collaboratively with the client, GP, and other health and care professionals to ensure people with moderate-serious mental health needs are supported to connect to their community, to build resilience and to improve their wellbeing. To hold a caseload of clients, helping them set and achieve personal recovery goals and connect to meaningful support within their community. As part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership in Bath and Northeast Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW), Second Step delivers community mental health support in collaboration with Alabar, Missing Link and Nilaari. Together, were transforming mental health services by focusing on trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally inclusive approaches.

### Job responsibilities

Manage a team of Recovery Navigators, providing 1:1s, supervisions, and developing Personal Development Plans in line with Second Steps policies and procedures. Screen referrals and carry out support conversations (if appropriate) to ascertain the best support route/service for the client; completing relevant paperwork on electronic systems and carrying out follow up calls. Attend and contribute in a positive and proactive way to daily handovers and Multi-Disciplinary Discussions, as well as building collaborative relationships with external stakeholders. Case manage and co-ordinate support, referring and liaising effectively with all professionals, agencies and other parties involved in a clients support. Supporting Recovery Navigators in the effective management of risk by providing guidance and oversight on escalated concerns, including safeguarding matters and incident management. Promote recovery, inclusion, and equity in everything you do.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- A minimum of two years recent experience of working with people
- with moderate to severe mental health needs including needs
- assessments and the support planning process.
- Experience of working with people with multiple needs e.g.mental health, learning difficulty, personality disorder.
- Experience of providing practical and emotional support to enable
- the client to take up the responsibilities of their own recovery.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary environment

**Desirable**

- Proven experience of mental health issues and/or services, either as a user, carer, supporter, volunteer or worker.
- Experience of leading a team including providing regular supervisions, completing annual appraisals and creating performance development plans.
