### Job overview

We are recruiting a full-time or part time Radiography Assistant in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. The Radiography Assistant is essential for the smooth running of the Diagnostic Imaging Service, supporting both the patients and staff.

This role is not available for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, we are unable to support visa applications for this post in line with UKVI regulations.

### Main duties of the job

The role includes:

- Clinical support and patient care during imaging procedures involving MRI, CT, Ultrasound and plain x-rays.
- Assisting in movement of beds, wheel chairs, and patients using manual handling equipment provided.
- Preparing  the clinical rooms for procedures and working aseptically during procedures.
- Entering data into the radiology computer system.
- Communicating with members of staff outside of the department to arrange complex scanning procedures.

We are looking for a motivated and caring individual who is ready to learn new skills and join our friendly team. The department operates a seven day service and shifts involving evenings, weekends and community hospital sites.

### SKILLS & ABILITIES

**Essential**

- Evidence of ability to communicate with all levels of staff and members of the general Public
- Evidence of ability to work under pressure

**Desirable**

- Evidence of ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
- An understanding of the meaning of confidentiality and the requirement for this to be maintained
- Evidence of basic computer skills

### KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

**Essential**

- Patient care – experience of working with patients, vulnerable groups
