This is a Senior Public Health Practitioner role within Cwm Taf Morgannwg Public Health Team, which supports Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend County Borough Councils.

The area is subject to a range of highly complex issues; the people of Cwm Taf Morgannwg have the poorest health in Wales and healthy life expectancy is the lowest of any of the Health Boards in Wales.  This population profile has an impact on the breadth and complexity of the work undertaken by the Public Health Team.

This post is a fixed term/secondment for 6 months until 31st March 2027 due to secondment cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Specifically, the post holder will implement components of our work plan with key partners in line with identified public health priorities.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see ‘Welsh Language Guidance’ in the documents right at the bottom.
