If you are an enthusiastic and motivated individual who pays particular attention to detail and want to kick start your career in project management then this is the role for you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Support Officer to join the North West Ambulance Service’s Programme Management Office (PMO). The role is based at Broughton House in Preston with a minimum of two days a week working in the office.

### Main duties of the job

You’ll need to be flexible and adaptable, as you’ll be supporting a varied workload across a wide range of projects. Senior Project Support Officers provide vital support to project managers; this role requires a highly organised, proactive professional who has the capability to work on a variety of projects. As a Senior Project Support Officer, you won’t only perform routine administrative duties like minute taking – rather, your responsibilities will be inextricably tied to the success of the project you are working on. Driving everything forward from planning to implementation, your actions will directly influence the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the project. This exciting role will lead you to working with a variety of key stakeholders both inside and outside of the Trust and will provide the opportunity to be part of a team that delivers fundamental change to continually improve patient care. The PMO here at NWAS is filled with friendly, dynamic and skilled project professionals with a great ethos and drive for delivery. We are supportive, compassionate and focused on improving patient care with the projects we are delivering. ## Person Specification

### Skills and Abilities

**Essential**

- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage with all levels of hierarchy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills including report writing.
- Ability to work on own or in a group with minimal direct supervision.
- A flexible and methodical approach to work to meet the needs of the role.
- Strong IT skills, able to use a wide range of software packages including Visio, Microsoft Project, Powerpoint, Excel – produce spreadsheets/formulas etc.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Ability to keep accurate and complete records consistent with best practice policies and procedures.

### Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- Project Administration Experience.
- Knowledge of project management including change management and benefit realisation .
- Experience of policy formation and procedures in relation to Programme Management Offices.
- Experience of prioritising workload and working to set time parameters.
- Experience of handling confidential information.

### Qualifications and Education

**Essential**

- Diploma level qualification or equivalent experience.
- PRINCE2 Foundation qualified
