The National Safeguarding Service (NSS) is seeking an ambitious and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-profile safeguarding programmes that support the protection of children, young people and adults across Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the National Safeguarding Service at the forefront of safeguarding improvement, working alongside NHS Wales organisations, Welsh Government, local authorities, regional safeguarding boards and other key partners to deliver transformational change.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex projects from inception through to delivery, ensuring programmes are well-governed, effectively managed and deliver meaningful outcomes. You will provide expert project management support, coordinate multi-agency workstreams, manage risks and resources, and engage confidently with senior stakeholders across Wales.

### Main duties of the job

- Leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of complex national projects and programmes.
- Working collaboratively with partners across health, social care, local government and third-sector organisations.
- Managing resources, risks and performance reporting.
- Developing innovative solutions to support service improvement and safeguarding outcomes.
- Preparing reports, business cases, news stories and presentations for senior leaders and governance groups, supporting the implementation of national safeguarding priorities and strategic objectives.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This is a hybrid role working in a flexible manner but predominantly working from home. Additional office attendance may be required, for example, key meetings, training, events, or to support service delivery. Applicants should ensure they are able to meet this requirement. Office attendance expectations may be reviewed in line with organisational and service needs.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Experience of working within the NHS

- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- People Management skills
- Track record of complex problem solving in a project management environment
- Competent in the use of desktop applications

**Desirable**

- Advanced IT skills in a range of desktop applications e.g. Excel, Power BI

### Qualifications and Knowledge

**Essential**

- Educated to Postgraduate Diploma level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Project and/or Programme management office qualification, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent experience

**Desirable**

- Masters Level Qualification
