### Job overview

The Senior Product Manager plays a key role within the FDP Local Product Team, leading the development and delivery of products that address clinical and operational challenges across NHS organisations, systems and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs). Working within the FDP Product Lifecycle Framework, the post holder will guide products from investigation through pilot to adoption.

The NHS Federated Data Platform (FDP) supports NHS transformation, enabling organisations to use data, real-time insight and AI capabilities to improve decision-making, patient outcomes and operational performance.

Working with frontline users, incubator organisations and supplier partners, the Senior Product Manager will lead product discovery and translate insights into product requirements. They will work with technical, clinical and operational stakeholders to develop solutions aligned to NHS priorities.

The post holder will support governance processes and prepare recommendations for review by the FDP Product Board and assurance forums. They will ensure products meet requirements for benefits realisation, clinical safety, information governance and alignment with national priorities, including the NHS 10 Year Health Plan. Working across Demand and Delivery, TOD, AI, Benefits, Clinical Safety and Information Governance teams, they will help deliver impact across the NHS.

This role offers the opportunity to improve care delivery while contributing to a major NHS digital transformation programme.

### Main duties of the job

Lead Product Discovery and Requirement Development – Work with frontline clinical and operational teams, incubator organisations and stakeholders to understand challenges, define user needs and develop clear product requirements and roadmaps.

Manage Products Through the FDP Lifecycle – Own product delivery from investigation and incubation through pilot and adoption, ensuring products are evidence-based, user-centred and capable of delivering measurable benefits.

Support Governance and Product Board Activity – Develop business cases, product assessments and lifecycle evidence, presenting recommendations and progress updates through the FDP Product Board and associated governance forums.

Coordinate Multi-Disciplinary Delivery Teams – Bring together suppliers, technical teams, clinicians, operational experts and programme colleagues to collaboratively design, build, test and refine products.

Ensure Product Assurance and Strategic Alignment – Work closely with Benefits, Clinical Safety, Information Governance, TOD, AI and Demand & Delivery teams to ensure products deliver measurable value, meet assurance requirements and align with NHS strategic priorities.

Champion User-Centred Product Management – Use data, insight and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve products, drive adoption and ensure solutions deliver meaningful outcomes for patients, staff and NHS organisations.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Expert level knowledge of agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Lean, Kanban) including how to apply an agile mindset to all aspects of their work - and the role of the product manager in collaborating with teams working in different delivery environments.
- Practitioner level knowledge of emerging trends and advances in the wider digital technology landscape and modern engineering practice. Understands the range of technology and development choices available and is able to lead informed conversations and decisions based on user needs, product integrity and value for money.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Masters degree / diploma or equivalent experience, including practical experience or formal training in any relevant or adjacent delivery discipline (e.g. user-centred design, software development, delivery management, project management).

### Skills & Experience

**Essential**

- Expert level skills and experience in working with teams and stakeholders to define user stories with suitable acceptance criteria, key performance indicators (KPIs) and associated performance metrics and measures.
- Practitioner level skills and experience in leading teams to define and align their product and delivery plans, including product visions, iterative roadmaps, development backlogs, release plans and business cases.
- Expert level skills and experience in communicating ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audience groups using multiple remote and face-to-face methods (e.g. show and tells, meetings, presentations, conferences, user and stakeholder interviews).
