Are you a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist passionate about enabling independence? Trafford Local Care Organisation is looking for a motivated and dynamic Band 7 Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Community Equipment and Adaptations Service.

You will manage a complex caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning to provide highly specialist assessments and interventions for service users with diverse and complex needs. Your work will focus on the provision of specialist equipment and major adaptations to help people live safely and independently in their own homes and local community.

We are committed to providing high quality patient care and to educating and developing our staff. Our teams are friendly and offer a supportive environment in which to further develop your clinical and leadership skills. Supervision, appraisal and professional development opportunities are provided and CPD is actively supported and encouraged.

Supervision of junior staff, rehabilitation assistants and Occupational Therapy students is integral to the role.

We are looking for applicants who are passionate about delivering high quality interventions, engage in service improvements and support greater integration with community services and other providers.

The post is full time Monday – Friday and requires ability to travel across Trafford Borough to undertake home visits.

Key responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive functional and risk assessments for service users with complex needs.

Prescribe and evaluate specialist equipment and environmental adaptations to maximise function and independence.

Act as an expert resource for the team, providing clinical guidance and supervision to junior OTs and support staff.

Take a lead role in complex cases, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams  and external partners, including Trafford Council.

Manage a defined caseload, prioritising work effectively to meet service priorities and deadlines.

Contribute to service development and audits to ensure a responsive and evidence-based service.

Deliver training and education to colleagues, service users, and carers on equipment use and safe moving and handling techniques

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Significant experience at a senior level of clinical practice in the speciality
- Evidence of managing a clinical of patients with complex clinical needs.
- Able to demonstrate clinical practice at a senior level
- Experience of managing / leading a team
- Proven clinical leadership
- Evidence of post registration development relevant to the post
- Awareness of recent government policies and directives and the implications for community service delivery both health & social care
- Knowledge of other non-statutory agencies working in the community
- Knowledge of relevant governance systems and their influence on current practice

**Desirable**

- Experience of undertaking Clinical Audit and Standard setting
- Specialist training in relevant area

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Qualified to practice as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS.
- Post graduate qualifications and experience to Master's level.
- Current registration with Health and Care Professions Council
- Relevant post graduate training required to underpin clinical practice in the required area that the Senior Practitioner will be required to work

**Desirable**

- Postgraduate Qualifications relevant to the clinical area of expertise.
- Management /Leadership Qualification
- Masters qualification
