We are a busy surgery with approximately 5,500 patients so an adaptable approach is needed. We are seeking to appoint an individual with a caring nature who will provide and maintain a professional manner and a high standard of nursing care for our patients. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Practice Nurses with good communication skills, and a commitment to working as part of a strong and effective team. ### Main duties of the job Main duties of the job Ideally the successful applicant will be qualified to undertake chronic disease management (Diabetes, and/or COPD and Asthma), travel health, women's health and all general treatment room tasks. We would be supportive of any training requirements. Therapeutic Monitoring: - Checking compliance with the adherence to appropriate treatments using a holisticpatient-centred approach. Recognising abnormalities - Identifying the impact of treatment and implementing or recommending changes asappropriate. Health Promotion: - Provide patients with comprehensive information about potential health risks andchronic disease, using education, discussion and appropriate literature, to promoteunderstanding of lifestyle issues, in particular smoking cessation, healthy eatingand regular exercise. Pathological Specimens and Investigatory Procedures: - Following appropriate training, undertake the collection, storage and dispatch of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears etc and ensure the cleanliness of any equipment so used.
