### Job overview

We are looking for Band 6 Podiatrist to join our  growing  dynamic team at Guys & St. Thomas' Hospital. These posts are  hospital based at Guys and  St Thomas'.

The post will involve wound care management and treatment of the high risk foot. The suitable candidate should be self-motivated and have a broad range of post-graduate clinical experience.

Patient care takes place in both out and in-patient setting.

You will be working within a team and must have good communication skills.

There will be supervision and mentoring from colleagues for continual CPD. In addition regular team meeting updates on Department and Trust positions.

### Main duties of the job

Candidate will be managing a high risk caseload and working closely within a multi disciplinary team and using a range of  advanced wound techniques in both in-patient and out-patients settings.  There will be a 2 day rotational element for treating MSK patients

Candidate must be highly motivated and and should be able to cope with clinical emergencies in a pressurised environment.

You will be supervising junior staff and be involved in teaching, taking part in audit / research

The successfully candidate is required to be able to demonstrate Trust Valves, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Able to communicate clinical knowledge effectively with colleagues and patients
- At least 3 years Post graduate experience in the NHS

**Desirable**

- Experience of supervising and training others
- Experience of clinical audit

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of treating high risk caseload
- Experience in assessing patients with a range of medical conditions
- Able to demonstrate effective clinical reasoning in developing care pathways and treatment plans

**Desirable**

- Experience in advance wound care techniques
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team

### Knowledge/Qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree in Podiatry
- HCPC registration
