The team works across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacy technician registered with the GPhC with proven post qualification experience to join our pharmacy team.

You will be responsible for the operational management and development of the team within Purchasing, Storage and Distribution (PSD) including vaccines.

You must be enthusiastic, self motivated and be able to work independently or as part of the pharmacy team. Our successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who has the ability to build good relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals. Ideally you should have experience of distribution, stock management, knowledge of IT systems and ideally have some experience of managing staff.

Our commitment to developing our workforce is a priority. NHS Fife has a range of development opportunities for all staff from entry into post and throughout the span of their career.

You will be based at the Victoria Hospital but will be required to work at the Queen Margaret Hospital to support cross site working.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.

As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

- Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
- Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
