### Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

- Supporting safe electronic prescribing and medicines optimisation for haematology and oncology patients
- Ensuring chemotherapy prescribing, dispensing, and administration processes comply with national safety standards and local governance requirements
- Developing and maintaining digital chemotherapy pathways and electronic treatment protocols
- Working closely with multidisciplinary teams including pharmacists, clinicians, nursing staff, digital teams, and informatics specialists
- Supporting implementation and optimisation of electronic prescribing and medicines administration (EPMA) systems

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- MPharm or equivalent degree in pharmacy
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Additional post-registration Postgraduate Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or Independent Prescriber Qualification (masters level)

**Desirable**

- Registration with Royal Pharmaceutical Society

### Other Requirements

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in pharmacy Clinical trials unit
- Recent experience of working in an aseptic or manufacturing environment compounding cytotoxic chemotherapy and CIVAS

- Ability to analyse highly complex data relating to medication use and present in a way that actions and follow-up can be identified
- Problem solving skills and the ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands
- Ability to analyse highly complex facts and situations and develop a range of options
- Able to make decisions on difficult issues where there may be number of courses of action
- Ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise

### Knowledge & Nature of Experience

**Essential**

- Previous experience in hospital pharmacy (Post-Registration)
- Previous experience contributing to the management of a digital clinical system (PostRegistration)
- Experience of developing and implementing service changes
- Experience of complex audit and implementation of change.
- Have a sound knowledge of legislation, national standards and good practice around medication supply, storage and prescribing/use in relation to digital systems.
- Understand the background and aims of current healthcare and digital policy

**Desirable**

- Experience in providing pharmacy services/pharmacist review to paediatrics
- Experience in providing specialist pharmacist review of people with cancer
- Experience of handling chemotherapy in any setting
- Experience of managing a clinical pharmacy service to a specialty on a day-to-day basis (e.g. whilst covering a more senior colleague)
- Experience of writing policies and procedures.
- Experience of developing business cases.
