We are looking for an Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Discovery programme. Discovery is a psychological and occupational therapy informed intervention for female and male offenders with personality disorder who are living in the community. Discovery aims to assist service-users in transition from custody to the community, to achieve pro-social community living and to enable effective risk management. The Discovery team consists of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Offender Managers and Housing and Resettlement. You will work with service-users to develop occupational therapy formulations, provide occupation-focussed occupational therapy intervention and contribute to overall psychological and risk formulation.
Main duties of the job
You need to have experience of working as part of multi-disciplinary teams with people with complex mental health problems. You need to be able to demonstrate commitment to delivering theory-led and evidenced-based intervention.
The work of Discovery is challenging at both professional and personal levels. To support this work, the Discovery team actively maintain a reflective and supportive culture. You will be provided with extensive training and development opportunities and have profession specific supervision.
The office base is situated in Leeds. You will be required to travel by car within the Yorkshire region on a regular basis.
