This role includes splinting, joint protection and self-management techniques, both within the community and across outpatient settings across the Trust. The post will allow the successful applicant the opportunity to work collaboratively within an integrated multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist assessment, goal directed intervention and rehabilitation to patients in a one to one and group setting. You will be required to work closely with MDT colleagues and contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service. You will have an opportunity to help shape and promote the service, providing you with a unique opportunity to engage in service development and change. You will need excellent leadership, communication organisational skills and sound clinical knowledge. To ensure service provision in the specialised area is prioritised and service delivery is made effectively within resource constraints. To practice within the multidisciplinary team, providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessments, diagnosis and treatment using clinical reasoning skills. To manage a defined caseload of patients (often with highly complex needs), using evidence based clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. To undertake complex assessments, plan, implement and evaluate therapeutic interventions. This work will take place both in patients’ homes and hospital. To provide leadership for junior and support staff, through supervision and mentoring. To carry out appraisals with junior and support staff, as delegated by Line Manager.
