The team is forward thinking, and is led by experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Team Leads. The role will be based across Capetown / Canterbury rehabilitation wards based at Chase Farm Hospital and Magnolia unit ( Complex multipathology, Stroke / Neuro inpatient rehabilitation) , supporting our 7 day therapy service cover rota. Our rehabilitation services provide inpatient rehabilitation for mainly older adults presenting with a variety of clinical conditions including post-operative orthopaedic surgery, decreased mobility after a fall, exacerbation of a long-term condition, recovery from acute medical problems, deconditioning following an extended hospital stay, Post Stroke/ Neurological rehabilitation. Many of our patients have multiple pathologies and complex needs that require comprehensive assessment by the multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with Physiotherapists, Speech and language therapists, Dietician , Nurses, and medical colleagues to plan and provide effective rehabilitation and supported discharge planning. You will work closely within an MDT to plan and provide effective rehabilitation and supported discharge planning. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate occupational therapy interventions. To provide leadership for junior staff, as delegated by Team lead Occupational Therapist To supervise Occupational therapy junior staff, therapy support staff & students on practice placements. To assist the Band 7 Team Leader for ensuring the provision of an exceptional standard of Occupational Therapy service7 days / week, in conjunction with the multi-professional team, to meet the needs of the patients in your designated work area. To assist and take responsibility in the absence of the Band 7 OT Team Leader for the effective and efficient day to day running of Occupational Therapy Service This post for Band 6 Occupational Therapist Inpatient rehabilitation has opportunities to work across Inpatient services on the Chase Farm hospital & St Michael’s sites across 7 days being part of a weekend working rota with potential for rotations to other services in future. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
