Help shape a new model of Occupational Therapy within Adult ADHD Services An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the newly established NELFT Adult ADHD Service as an Senior Occupational Therapist. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and develop an innovative occupational therapy pathway within a brand-new multidisciplinary service, supporting adults across Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest.

### Main duties of the job

The NELFT Adult ADHD Service provides a holistic model of care incorporating both clinical and social support tailored to individual needs. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive, equitable and sustainable pathway for adults, from assessment through to ongoing management of ADHD. Working within a full multidisciplinary team comprising Psychiatry, Psychology, Pharmacy and Occupational Therapy, the service offers ADHD assessment, therapeutic support, ADHD coaching, peer support, medication titration and advice and guidance.

### Job responsibilities

As the Senior Occupational Therapist, you will provide professional and clinical leadership for Occupational Therapy within the service. You will play a pivotal role in developing and embedding the occupational therapy pathway, ensuring people with ADHD have access to evidence-based interventions that improve occupational performance, participation and quality of life.

You will lead the development of occupational therapy screening and prioritisation processes, deliver highly specialised assessment and intervention for individuals with complex needs, supervise Occupational Therapists within the service and contribute to service development, quality improvement and research.

Occupational Therapy is central to our model of care. You will work with individuals to address the functional impact of ADHD through interventions focused on executive functioning, routines, organisation, time management, emotional self-management, sensory regulation, environmental

Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes, Essex.

Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, CEME) This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).

- Significant post qualification experience in mental health, neurodevelopment, learning disability or related field

### Qualifications

- HCPC Registration
