The post holder will be a JAG accredited independent practitioner in diagnostic upper and/or lower gastrointestinal (GI); supported by the team of Consultant Endoscopists’ and Nonmedical Endoscopists’. The Nurse Endoscopist will be expected to work as an autonomous clinical expert within their field of competence in GI Endoscopy and work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team. Through the delivery of their own endoscopy sessions, the post holder will help in supporting the Trust in achieving national set targets, such as the 2 week cancer pathway and 18 week referral to treatment pathway ### Main duties of the job - To provide individual episodes of care to a client group based on assessment of  physical, social, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs.  2. To demonstrate a high level of clinical decision-making and an ability to monitor and  improve standards of care. To work within his/her own scope of professional practice.  3. To work closely with the multi-professional team to develop the nurse endoscopist  service and provide expert nursing practice without direct medical supervision but  within agreed Trust protocols.  4. To work unsupervised in the provision of clinical care to patients   5.
