### Main duties of the job

- The Senior OT contributes to the provision, co-ordination and development of OT services for their specific section.
- Assists in training and supervising junior staff and students and participates in administrative functions of the OT Department.
- To provide excellent, high quality person centred clinical care that advocates for patients.
- Strive to provide a service fit for today and the future.
- Develop personal leadership to support clinical growth.
- The successful post holder should have experience working with stroke and a range of other neurological conditionals.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Ability to clinical reason/ plan intervention independently
- Experience working with neuro patients in an acute / community setting
- Evidence of CPD.
- Experience of risk assessment

**Desirable**

- Experience of research and audit
- Advice and informal supervision to  support staff and students
- Experience working in the NHS

### Qualification

**Essential**

- Degree or Diploma in OT
- HCPC registration

**Desirable**

- Fieldwork educators course
- evidence of Post grad study in neuro conditions

### Skills and knowledge

**Essential**

- Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups (stroke specific)
- Ability to manage own workload and determine priorities
- able to work under pressure
- Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
- Knowledge of evidence based practice (stroke specific)
- Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice (within OT and stroke)

**Desirable**

- Training and facilitation skills
- Use of an NHS EPR
