Applications are invited for a post of Senior Neonatal Transport Fellows commencing  August 2026 for a period of 6 months. The successful applicant will have an exciting opportunity to work as the transport doctor for the CenTre neonatal transport team. This experience should leave candidates well placed for a successful application to join a national training scheme.

CenTre Neonatal Transport team provides neonatal transport service for East Midlands Operational Delivery Network (EMODN) and Coventry. It is one of the busiest transport services in the country with about 1600 transports in a year with a provision of high-quality, safe intensive care during transport including active cooling and nitric oxide. This service is hosted by the University hospitals of Leicester with neonatal teams from Leicester, Nottingham and Coventry. It is based in Castle Donnington.

Successful candidate will have junior doctor contract compliant full shift rota being part of neonatal transport team based in Castle Donnington. They would work along with transport nursing team and transport consultant for safe transport of neonates from one unit to another. They will receive educational and clinical supervision and have opportunity to be involved in quality improvement projects and on the NICU in Nottingham.

### Teaching

**Essential**

- Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate doctors
- Able to supervise junior staff effectively

**Desirable**

- Completed teaching courses / training / qualification.
- Appraisal and assessment training and skills

### Registration

**Essential**

- Full GMC registration

### Audit/Research

**Essential**

- Evidence of participation in clinical audit
- Understanding of clinical governance issues
- Ability to assess and apply evidence based research into everyday clinical practice.
- Evidence of having written / participated in the writing of evidence based guidelines
- Involvement in neonatal research studies

**Desirable**

- Formal audit training
- Attendance at Neonatal Scientific Meetings
- Presentations at learned societies
- Author of peer reviewed publications

### Management Skills

- Evidence of management skills
- Good understanding of the structure and processes of the NHS

- At least 6 months of experience at Registrar level in a tertiary NICU.
- At least 12 months overall tertiary neonatal experience
- NLS Provider
- Computing / IT skills

**Desirable**

- Previous neonatal or paediatric transport experience
- NLS Instructor
- Formal training in neonatal transport

### Professional Qualifications

**Essential**

- MRCPCH
- Member of the RCPCH

**Desirable**

- Higher Degree (MSc, MD or PhD)
