This is a substantive, full-time position for a highly motivated Band 6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the first Academic Health Science Centre in the UK.

This rotational post includes opportunities to develop skills and expertise in the upper and lower quadrants, complex patients, hand therapy and pelvic health.

You will be joining a large team of band 5, 6 and 7 therapists which includes a diverse mix of staff including; rotational physiotherapists, specialist hand therapy occupational therapists, specialist pelvic health physiotherapists and therapy assistants and technicians.  Additionally we have a well-established team of clinical specialists, orthopaedic and pain physiotherapy practitioners.

We have a novel way of developing staff, utilising an innovative new patient model within clinical teams, each led by our Clinical specialist practitioners. The various teams will offer exposure to a variety of clinical presentations including; upper- and lower limb conditions, spinal pain, rheumatological and persistent pain.

### Main duties of the job

You will maintain a high level of clinical caseload and exposure to musculoskeletal adult presentations. Clinical caseload involves both 1;1 sessions with patient where we see 80-90% face to face and only a small virtual caseload is maintained.

Additionally you will be responsible for running exercises classes and hydrotherapy to patients groups. we run a 8 month rotation basis within Musculoskeletal areas, Hand therapy and pelvic health. in musculoskeletal we focus on upper limb/ lower limb, spinal, chronic pain and complex presentations.

Non clinically you will be responsible for supervising band 5 staff members, physiotherapy assistants and students throughout the year.

There is opportunity to lead on CPD, to run projects for service improvement and develop research skills.

All development is encouraged and supported to ensure you are continuing with reaching improved skills/ knowlegde and behaviours for the four pillars of Clinical/ Education/ Leadership and Research.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Recent substantial and sustained experience in relevant physiotherapy specialities and clinical settings
- Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team
- To have participated in service development projects.
- Experience of clinical education of staff, students or assistants.
- Experience of supervision of students/ physiotherapy assistants, with development of basic supervision skills.
- Experience of on-call and weekend working in an acute hospital
- To have undertaken audit and/or research, either within area of physiotherapy speciality or as part of the MDT

**Desirable**

- Previous experience in the NHS as a qualified physiotherapis
- Previous senior physiotherapist experience in relevant post
- Involvement with Clinical Governance issues and an understanding of their relation to patient care
- Experience of on-call and weekend working in an acute hospital

### Education/ Qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy
- State registration with the Health Professions Council.
- Evidence of CPD through maintenance of a portfolio
- Demonstrate learning of personal effectiveness and first line leadership from experience and from both formal and informal CPD activity.

**Desirable**

- APLS
- Membership of CSP special interest groups relevant to speciality
