We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at HMP Stocken, Category C men's prison located in the parish of Stretton, in the county of Rutland, England

Hours 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday: core office hours

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

### Main duties of the job

As our new Senior Mental Health Support Worker, you will:

- You will assist the mental health team in the delivery of immediate and, where appropriate, ongoing care for patients referred to the service.
- Be expected to delivery structured intervention on a 1:1 and group basis to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, including people with anxiety and depression.
- Contribute to the positive and aspirational workings of the integrated mental health care team, ensuring that each and every patient is treated with care, respect and dignity.
- In addition to this, the post holder will also be responsible for completing physical health monitoring as required, this includes taking blood and completing physical observations - training can be provided.

Qualifications required

- Experienced in healthcare settings, preferably mental health settings.
- Previous training, or willingness to complete training around physical health monitoring including venepuncture, NEWS2 and ECGs.
- Experience in the delivery of mental health interventions.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work independently
