An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join the Trauma & Orthopaedic team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is a demanding and rewarding role that would suit an individual who thrives in a busy environment, has excellent attention to detail, and can effectively manage a varied workload while meeting service deadlines.

### Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive senior medical secretarial service to consultants and the wider clinical team.

Transcription of clinical dictation for multiple healthcare professionals, including but not limited to, clinical correspondence, reports, assessments and audits.

Manage waiting lists and ensure compliance with RTT targets. Schedule patients for surgery and maintain theatre lists for Alexandra and Kidderminster sites at least six weeks in advance, ensuring compliance with 642 procedures.

Coordinate loan kit requests, x-ray bookings, and liaise with pre-op, occupational therapy, HDU and theatres.

- Experience of managing a surgical waiting list
- Experience of working in an ever-changing environment with changing priorities
- Experience of dealing with members of the public.
- Experience of creating clinical correspondence through Digital Transcription

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in Trauma & Orthopaedics

### Qualifications

- Recognised secretarial/computer skills qualification
- GCSE or Equivalent level of English

- RSA Typing stage III
