University Hospitals Dorset have a vacancy for a Senior Medical Equipment Library coordinator.

The Medical Equipment Library within the Clinical Engineering Department, is part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Trust, and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse range of medical equipment for two General Hospitals, and many Healthcare facilities in East Dorset.

### Main duties of the job

The Medical Equipment Library within the Clinical Engineering Department, is part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Trust.

You will be expected to be able to demonstrate self motivation, the upholding of professional standards, be conscientious and well organised in your approach.

Supervise the regular supply of equipment to all library users and advise on correct resource deployment where shortages are experienced.

Maintain appropriate record keeping systems; ensuring information is up to date at all times.

You will be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

- Responsibility for requisitioning of spare parts and consumables
- Assist in the training of ward staff and other equipment users in the safe and correct operation of library equipment and provide advice on equipment faults and inappropriate use
- Team effort to effectively manage Medical Equipment Library stock.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to work well in a team. Capable of developing effective working relationships with users.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Basic understanding of electronic/mechanical equipment

### Experience

**Essential**

- Cleaning and testing the basic function of electronic medical equipment or similar.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSEs (Maths and English)
- Educated to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and experience in a relevant field

**Desirable**

- Understanding of medical terminology & equipment applications
