### Job overview

The RMCH Paediatric Neurology Department is a centre of excellence and a tertiary referral centre for the North West of England. Outreach clinics are held in the local district hospitals throughout the region. Inpatients are admitted to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The department has close links with child psychiatry, psychology, neurosurgery, metabolic medicine, clinical genetics and paediatric intensive care. The Neuromuscular service cares for approximately 400 patients with confirmed neuromuscular disorders. RMCH is also a national centre for gene therapy in spinal muscular atrophy.

This post will provide excellent opportunities for gaining experience in the management of children and young people with neuromuscular disorder under close supervision of the Consultant Paediatric Neurologists. The fellow will be expected to work within the team coordinating patient care and facilitating clinical trial participation.

This post would be ideally suited to an individual who is post CCT in Paediatrics (or equivalent Specialist training) and who is wishing to develop skills in assessment and management of a wide range of neuromuscular conditions. This post will afford excellent experience in neuromuscular clinical research trials as well as data collection in National Neuromuscular Audits.
