The fellowship offers comprehensive experience in the diagnosis and management of cardiac amyloidosis, alongside exposure to a high-volume heart muscle disease programme including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiac sarcoidosis, myocarditis, and rare cardiomyopathies. Training includes dedicated sessions in advanced cardiac imaging, with opportunities for progression in cardiac MRI, CT, and advanced echocardiography, as well as participation in multidisciplinary meetings, research, and service development initiatives. ### Main duties of the job The postholder will participate in specialist cardiac amyloid and heart muscle disease outpatient clinics, undertaking the assessment, investigation, and management of patients with suspected and confirmed cardiac amyloidosis under consultant supervision. They will be expected to coordinate and present cases at the cardiac amyloid and heart muscle disease multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of a newly established regional cardiac amyloid service. The successful applicant will also gain experience across the wider heart muscle disease programme, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiac sarcoidosis, myocarditis, and other rare cardiomyopathies. Training will include dedicated sessions in advanced cardiac imaging tailored to the successful applicant's needs and may include cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and advanced echocardiography. The postholder will have protected research time to undertake quality improvement projects, establish and maintain an amyloid patient registry, participate in retrospective research, and contribute to publications and presentations.
