We are looking for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our long-established NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression team in North Tyneside. You will be part of the overall Senior Team and provide clinical leadership within the low intensity element of the service. North Tyneside Talking Therapies is recognised for its high quality therapeutic delivery and our patients experience significant improvements which is demonstrated in our performance outcomes. ### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to Low Intensity Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP's), LI Supervisors and Trainee PWP's. If successful, you will be involved in the quality improvement and development of low intensity therapy delivery within the NHS Talking Therapies element of the service.

This will involve opportunities to improve our clinical delivery, supervision and Continuing Professional Development Programme based on a sound evidence base as well as innovative ideas.

You will also maintain your own low intensity practice providing assessment and treatment for people presenting with common mental health problems, within the NHS Talking Therapies framework.

The Talking Therapies Senior team is committed to compassionate, inclusive leadership and is a reflective and supportive group of professionals. You would be supported in your role with regular supervision and excellent development opportunities.

You will work closely with the NHS Talking Therapies Clinical Lead to develop innovative positive clinical change, and help the service achieve high quality clinical care, meeting the national Talking Therapies key performance indicators.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Educated to degree level and/or a recognised NHS Talking Therapies Low Intensity/PWP qualification.
- Professional registration with the BABCP/BPS or to complete within probationary period
- Significant experience of working with people with common mental health problems
- Ability to demonstrate a range of post-qualifying experiences, delivering the range of evidence-based NHS Talking Therapies low intensity interventions (including computerised CBT, guided self-help and group psycho-education
- Consolidated and reflective supervised post-qualifying experience
- Talking Therapies low intensity (LI) supervision qualification and experience, with the expectation of being able to deliver LI supervision to a number of PWP's and trainees

### Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- A related degree, eg. Psychology with a either a Post Graduate Cert/Dip in Mental Health or Equivalent or IAPT Low intensity worker/ psychological wellbeing practitioner qualification
- Professional registration with BABCP/BPS – Post holder will be expected to complete this within 6 months of appointment.

**Desirable**

- Training in CBT
- A qualification or substantial experience in Professional Supervision

### Other requirements

**Essential**

- It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.

### Experience and knowledge

**Essential**

- Significant experience of working with people with common mental health problems
- Consolidated and reflective supervised post-qualifying experience, preferably in NHS or Social Services setting.
- Experience of delivering training to a range of professionals
- Experience of ‘partnership working’
- Experience of working with clients who self-harm
- Substantial experience of multi - disciplinary teamwork
- Experience of working with suicidal clients and of risk management
- Experience of working within the IAPT culture
- Evidence-based practice/clinical governance

**Desirable**

- Training in CBT
- A qualification or substantial experience in Professional Supervision
- Experience in drug/alcohol management
- Experience of supervising others within a therapy setting of helping profession such as social work nursing
- Experience of working in a Primary Care Mental Health setting
- Experience of working in a 3rd Sector Mental Health setting
- Experience of dealing with clients whose children are subject to Child Protection legislation
- Experience of co-working with general nurses and health visitors in a Primary Care setting
- Experience of Healthy Living initiatives
- Experience of screening, assessing and working with a wide spectrum of mental health issues and working with people with moderate common mental health problems
- Experience of audit and research
- Experience of and ability to provide mentor/supervisor role
- Evidence of further training in psychological interventions/therapy
- Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
