### Job overview

We are looking for a Health Care Assistants for our Outpatients Department to work within various specialist clinics across the department.

The successful candidates will be expected to provide support to the multidisciplinary team in the provision of a high standard of direct patient care and to carry out tasks and run clinics assigned to them.

We are a very busy department and you will need to be caring, organised and motivated. An essential requirement to this post is the ability to communicate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and with a diverse local population. We aim to continually improve the patient experience throughout our Outpatients Department and can only do this if staff communicate appropriately with all patients, carers and visitors.

The Out Patients department services currently function Monday to Friday 0830 to 1700 and the successful candidates will be expected to work in the Musculo-skeletal, Medical and Surgical clinics within the department. We also run staggered time in the department as the clinic sometimes overruns

### Main duties of the job

The  Health Care Support Worker is responsible for the delivery of holistic, patient- centred care which is planned and directed by health care professionals. This will include a range of core clinical skills and depending on the area worked will include specific patient or speciality clinical skills.

The post holder is responsible for delivering high standards of care and providing services in accordance with the Trusts values and behaviours to support the nursing team in the delivery of patient care which is safety and effective.

The post holder is a fundamental part of the nursing team in providing care to patients/ carers/ relatives at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Trust, including the safe delivery of a range of clinical competency skills.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in Acute Hospital setting in a Band 2 HCSW role or equivalent
- Experience of providing personal care to patients
- Experience with NHS Digital Systems E

### Education and Qualifications

**Essential**

- Functional skills minimum Level 1 Maths and English as assessed via BKSB (Basic and Key Skills Builder Aptitude) Test or GCSE equivalent
- Level 2 or 3 Health Care qualification/apprenticeship, or completion of Band 3 Excellence in Care Competencies for staff who have worked in the Trust at least 15 months.
- BEACH Course or willingness to undertake
