An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our Major Trauma Ward (12D) at The Royal London Hospital.

Our teams are passionate about delivering the highest standard of care for our patients and their families. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual who shares our values and is committed to providing safe, dignified and person-centred care.

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting our multidisciplinary team. You will assist Registered Nurses and Therapy staff in delivering direct patient care, ensuring that the ward environment remains clean, safe and well organised. You will also support with patient observations, comfort, mobility and personal care.

Our patients are often admitted following traumatic or life-changing events, so we are looking for someone who is calm, empathetic, patient and confident communicating with people during difficult and emotional times. You will be friendly, approachable and able to work well as part of a team.

Previous care experience is desirable but not essential. We offer a structured induction programme, ongoing in-house training and opportunities to develop your skills and progress within the Trust.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Awareness of health and safety at work. e.g: manual handling skills, infection control measures.
- Ability to collect and exchange factual information and data to the multidisciplinary team and ensure data accuracy.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Demonstrable experience of working in a clinical healthcare setting.
- Experience of dealing with the public.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Completion of Care Certificate or equivalent.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (English and Math’s GCSEs or equivalent.)
- Evidence of ongoing personal development.

**Desirable**

- Level 2 support worker Apprenticeship
