The Children’s Decision Area sees children referred from GPs, children with direct access and children sent from ED requiring a further assessment. The short stay area is for children who require a prolonged period of observation but who are unlikely to need a full admission to hospital.

Ward 30 is a Children’s Inpatient Unit that was purpose built in 2016. The unit includes 35 inpatient beds, a two-bedded stabilisation area. The ward has an adolescent room, school room, play room, and an accessible bathroom. Each bed space also has state of the art bedside monitoring.
