While the postholder will contribute to service delivery, the overarching purpose of the post is to provide defined educational opportunities, supervised clinical practice, and experience aligned to the relevant specialty training curriculum Please see below for detailed job description of the role. ### Main duties of the job Stroke Senior Fellow Training Fellows, IMT3+ level, required for University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust from August 2026 for one year. This role is important as it supports the acute stroke service for Southampton patients and the regional mechanical thrombectomy service for Wessex (350 MTs treated in 2025, 3rd busiest unit in the UK).  We're looking for an enthusiastic doctor with MRCP who wants to pursue a career in stroke medicine and is keen to experience a comprehensive stroke centre. You will join a team of 8 consultants, 12 other resident doctors and 12 ACPs. We are a friendly, supportive team who will to help you with career development. Full job description and person specification attached. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities - Acute Stroke Liaison sessions: immediate response to new patient referrals from the Emergency Department or from other hospitals, and review of other patients referred from within the hospital, supporting the ACPs and consultants on the stroke on call. 2.    HASU & ASU sessions: review of new and rehab patients admitted to the unit with consultant supervision including MDT work 3.     TIA clinics weekly For an overview of the position, please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification document.
